We continue to be inspired by the people who get up every day for a greater purpose. The ones who settle for nothing less than both work, and life, done right. Here are five stories from men and women who’ve answered the call to help their communities.
SAVING GRACE AUTO
Abe Attallah isn’t just a mechanic. On nights and weekends, this former long haul trucker and founder of Saving Grace Auto turns wrenches into inspiration by offering his services for free. Abe keeps our communities running — both literally and figuratively — living up to his company’s namesake.
Sharae Moore may only be 5’3”, but it goes without saying that she owns the road. As the spirited founder of S.H.E. Trucking, Sharae has created a mission turned movement, teaching thousands of women the ins and outs of the trucking business.
For the last 97 years we've been making workwear for auto mechanics, truck drivers, construction workers, restaurant wait staff, cook crews, trash collectors and housekeepers...in short the people who are – and always were – essential. We’re honoring those who take care of business, no matter what.
TWISTED SOUL COOKHOUSE
Chef Deborah Vantrece, Executive Chef and Owner of Twisted Soul Cookhouse in Atlanta, reminds us that creativity and community are her two most important ingredients. A visionary in the world of culinary, Chef Deborah continues to reinvent herself while she cooks up large batches of hope for her city.
Rodney Smith, Jr. does more than meticulously mow lawns for elderly and disabled members of his community and all over the country. A self-propelled doer of good, Rodney is putting the ‘care’ into lawn care with Mow & Drops — where he also drops off essentials during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Adam Elzer loves to serve. Adam Elzer also loves pizza. So when the COVID-19 pandemic hit NYC, the owner and founder of Sauce PIzzeria didn’t think twice about helping healthcare heroes. With over 44,000 meals served to hospital workers throughout Manhattan and the Bronx, his model of giving has inspired countless restaurants across the country.
